Transform Adversity:  A Weekend of Inspiration, Hope and Healing at Wainwright House, Rye, NY

If there is anyone who can speak personally to the transformation of trauma into life-affirming energy, it is Trisha Meili.  In 1989, when she awoke from her coma, induced by a horrendous attack, she immediately put her entire effort into her recovery, and she recovered beyond the predictions of anyone in the medical community.  To hear Trisha speak is to be inspired - inspired by the amazing capacity of the body and spirit to heal, and inspired to do whatever is necessary for one's own healing and recovery.
Trisha and I hold in common a belief in the importance of spirituality for healing.  Using a combination of visualization, inspirational talks, meditation and mindfulness, Trisha and I will guide participants through a workshop designed to jump-start or re-energize their recovery process by integrating hope and inspiration with healing techniques. We will be discussing the delicate balance between staying in the moment and having a vision for change, and we will assist participants in developing their own healing practices.  For more information, please see Workshop or call Wainwright House at 914-967-6080.
The Transformative Power of Gratitude

In the words of Melodie Beattie, "Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. ...Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow."

Take a moment, right now, and close your eyes.  Take a deep breath.  From a place deep within, evoke images of what you are grateful for.  Feel the peace and centeredness that accompanies these images.  After a minute, write the list down.

If are unable to access a feeling of gratitude, I would consider three possibilities...  Gratitude Article

Best wishes for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones,
